Let Grow x Empowering The Next Generation: How Families and Communities can balance independence & safety to enable our children to thrive
Join Let Grow & The Balance Project for this exciting FAMILY event (adults and kids 3-18) focused on helping families and communities empower the next generation.
While adults hear from renowned speaker, independence advocate, author and Anxious Generation advisor, Lenore Skenazy, kids will be engaged in an exciting skill-building activity.
Then, we'll have a family "working lunch" where we'll enjoy a very special meal and have a child-appropriate discussion on balancing independence and safety + families will collaborate to create an Independence Plan for each child for the upcoming year.
After lunch, there will be an optional Blue Sky Ideation session that will crowdsource ways to create new community norms to encourage childhood independence. The output of this discussion will inform TBP X Let Grow's Community Kit and Community norms across the country.
We expect high demand and space is limited - register now to reserve your spot!
Cost: $15/family
Registration closes: April 30th

Transition Year Planning
Moving from Elementary to Middle or Middle to High School - or another school-specific milestone - represents a time to take a pause and consider how to handle this "Rite of Passage" with your kids in terms of giving them increased independence and ensuring a healthy relationship with technology.
How do we want to mindfully approach these transition years to balance independence, safety and a healthy, intentional age-appropriate relationship with technology?
WE GOT THIS!!

Devices & Delights
Join The Balance Project for our Devices & Delights Event at Birdsmouth Beer.
We’re so excited to host a fun evening to help us all learn a little bit more about what’s out there!
This will be an engaging and interactive experience where community members can explore a variety of “smartphone alternatives”, including tracking devices, smartwatches, “dumb phones”, flip phones, home phones as well as screentime reduction devices/apps, etc. to understand the pros/cons of each device to help inform our path forward.
We’ll also have some “delights” (aka snacks, apps, etc.) and the Birdsmouth Beer taps will be open as well :)

Group Community Kick off
If your community would like to formally kick off a local effort, you can join our group kick off meeting to be held at 6pm prior to the Devices & Delights events on March 13th at Birdsmouth Beer.
In this kick off event, The Balance Project team will walk through some high-level background information and the basics to get your group up and running.
Coming out of this meeting, you will be ready to start activating in your communities.
Please have one person from each town secure your spot here.
